Francis Kuehl

Francis works independently as a professional rifle builder, chambering rifles for professional competitors and for GA Precision, one of the most respected rifle builders in the country. Francis has learned the business from the ground up. He began reloading his own cartridges 33 years ago and chambering his own rifles 20 years ago. Francis has also worked as a tax preparer for the past 20 years and serves as the treasurer of the Nor Cal Practical Precision Rifle Club. As if that weren’t enough, he serves as a volunteer fixed wing pilot for the Monterey County Sheriff’s Aero Squadron.

Francis is a Life Member of the NRA and a member of the SAC Valley Shooting Center, the Nor Cal Practical Precision Rifle Club, the Monterey County Swiss Rifle Club and the Pajaro Rod and Gun Club. Francis has also been competing across many disciplines (PRS, AAA and NRA Highpower and Smallbore, & Silhouette) for the past 28 years and has built a reputation as one of the finest shooters in the Precision Rifle Series, shooting for Team GA Precision and sponsored by Lapua, Vortex Optics, JP Rifles, Tab Gear, Copper Creek Ammunition, FLIR Industries, & Silencerco Suppressors. 

Francis is a NRA Pistol Instructor and Utah Certified Concealed Firearms Instructor and has served as an adjunct instructor for SWAT teams, various Marine sniper platoons, Seal Teams, and professional competitors around the country.

Francis’ bolt gun competition highlights from 2009-2015 include 24 top 5 finishes and 1st Place finishes at the 2014 GAP/Bushnell Grind ProAM, 2014 NCPPRC Tactical Bolt Challenge, 2013 Precision Tactical Solutions, 2012 NorCal Tactical Bolt Challenge, 2012 Tactical Precision Rifle Challenge, 2011 Tactical Bolt Challenge, 2011 Oregon Sniper Challenge, 2010 Rifles Only Shooters Bash, and the 2009 Tactical Bolt Challenge.

Francis’ competition results from earlier in his career (1985-1992) are equally as impressive: California Junior 3 & 4 Position State Champion (1989, 1990, & 1991), 1989 Camp Perry Whistler Boy Gold Medal Winner, CA State Junior Olympic Gold Medal Winner (1989, 1990, & 1991), 1991 Junior Olympics 6th Place finish in Colorado Springs, CA State and Intercollegiate Gold Medal Winner (1991 & 1992), 1991 CA State 4 Position Adult Smallbore Rifle Champion (with a score of 795 out of 800!), and Presidents 100 (1989,1990, & 1991).
